Meet Our Doctors
Dr Hessler and Dr Kavalieratos started their medical journey together at the University of Cape Town in 2015, continuing through to graduation as clinical partners. Although they parted ways for their internship and community service years, both continued to share the same values and principles – namely providing holistic, empathetic, and outstanding service to patients of all backgrounds.
Dr Nina Claudia Hessler MBChB (UCT)
Dr Hessler graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2020 with Distinction in the Clinical Sciences and the Degree with Honours. She subsequently completed her two year internship at Frere Hospital in East London. She then went on to complete her Community Service year at West Rand District Health in rural Gauteng. For her work that year she was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the West Rand District Health Office for Professionalism and Dedication to Patient Care.
Dr Talia Kavalieratos MBChB (UCT) DipPEC (SA)
Dr Kavalieratos, also a University of Cape Town alumnus, graduated in 2020 with Distinction in the Clinical Sciences. She went on to complete her internship at Victoria Hospital, Wynberg. Thereafter she joined the Mitchells Plain Hospital Circuit to complete her Community Service year. During this year she also obtained her Diploma in Primary Emergency Care, having worked in multiple casualties across the Cape Flats including those at Heideveld Hospital and Mitchells Plain CHC.
